I had a clear out one Sunday and found this photograph of an exhibition of mine from my second year of college. It was a major portrait project and I remember being so restricted to A3 in my sketchbooks and then my favourite tutor in the whole world (he was also my photography teacher too) said 'go bigger, push yourself'. I only have this as evidence because a year later my house burnt down and I lost all my artwork and other prized possessions. From the left portrait I clearly needed to blend the colours better. I enjoyed using oil pastels of my best friend on the right portrait. I went through a lot of cream, white and blue pastels on that one.

The gift of fan art
I have done a couple of fan art paintings recently which were fun to do. King Boo turned out pretty good but the Captain America canvas still needs some work. Circles are difficult to get right. Some more is on the cards for this week.

Experimental abstract piece for fun :)
For fun I experimented with acrylic, ink and markers for this abstract piece. I'm going to be adding stitch to it because I love mixed media work and I miss sewing. It was inspired by blurred lines and markings I could see around me without my glasses on (I'm short sighted). As it has been super hot lately here in Widnes I have gone with warm pinks and yellows but have broken up sections with blues to keep it interesting.

Painting for my Sister's room
I used acrylics for a floral canvas for my sister's bedroom to go with her dark blue and green floral bed covers and fushia coloured curtains.

How To Train Your Dragon
For fun I have been doing a few paintings for people and this is one I created for my bf. It has been a nice break and has gotten me back into painting because I have been mostly using pencils, pens and inks for my work. Can't beat an image of a dragon every now and again.
